Bonnie Raitt can move you with music, but can she move people to ditch their disposable bottles? Perhaps the possibility of 52 pints of premium Ben & Jerry's goodness can help? Raitt is front and center on the 6th challenge from the Green Music Group, to get people to switch from single-use plastic bottles to hip, reusable containers. Raitt is urging people to take a "kick the habit" pledge with the Plastic Pollution Coalition, then enter to win the 52 pints—which translates to a year's supply of what we all scream for.
Your pledge to the Plastic Pollution Coalition could make you a SUPER hero, as in Single-Use Plastic Emergency Response.
The coalition calls single-use and disposable plastics some of the greatest sources of plastic pollution on the planet. They're convenient, but they create waste that lasts forever.
Winning this green music challenge, which you enter by taking and uploading a picture of yourself and your (hopefully) BPA-free, stainless steel bottle, also offers the chance to have your carbon footprint offset for a year by Native Energy. And as with previous challenges, every entry could potentially put you in the driver's seat of a Honda Insight hybrid, the grand prize in the challenge.
The deadline is noon, July 2.
